Our client for this project is a Philippines-based retail giant with over 80 stores. This client sells high-grade home improvement products and construction supplies. Its product range includes an extensive selection of local and international brands of tiles, sanitaryware, plumbing fixtures, furniture, home interior, electrical appliances, hardware and more.
Managing 80 stores with individual websites and massive product catalogs was challenging for our client. The objectives of the project were as follows.
How did we accomplish this project? What challenges did we face? Let’s find out.
80+ websites with over 15,000 products, countless pages and images made the website slow. Many customers abandoned the website, resulting in reduced sales and revenue.
Managing hundreds of product pages and images on all the websites were challenging for our client. They wanted to track inventory accurately and ensure customer satisfaction.
The search logic was not efficient enough to recommend the right products to customers. Our client wanted customers to see personalized recommendations based on their search, plus highlight popular/top-selling products.
We implemented multi-level caching to improve website responsiveness and reduce server load, resulting in lightning-fast page loading.
Using Magento’s inventory management system allowed our client to track inventory across all the stores, set low stock thresholds and prevent overselling. Also, ETP omnichannel connect helps synchronize offline and online sales to ensure robust, real-time inventory management.
Integrating Algonomy with the Ecommerce platform enabled our client to personalize search results and optimize product recommendations for customers based on their online behavior and past history.
We worked on this project using the Agile methodology. We divided the project into manageable sprints and shared and received constructive feedback across different stages of the development process. First, we analyzed the user behavior data, website performance metrics and existing inventory management strategies.
Then, we used the Agile methodology to implement multi-level caching to boost website speed, integrate IMS and ETP connect to ensure inventory data management across offline and online stores. The last step was careful testing and deployment. After 6 months of hard work, our client witnessed the results. Loading speed of the websites had reduced, and inventory management had improved greatly. Sales figures broke previous years records.
