Consolidating Websites and Driving Business Agility
Our client is a prominent energy company with a global presence that delivers sustainable oil products and services to customers worldwide. The company’s offerings include gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, LPG, bitumen, and lubricants, as well as fuel cards, fuel management, and aviation refuelling services. In addition to its downstream activities, the company also invests in upstream exploration and production activities. The company has interests in oil and gas fields in Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. Our client is committed to corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and their efforts reflect this.
The client’s various businesses and operations in different countries required the creation of multiple websites. However, due to the lack of uniformity, this resulted in inconsistent branding and user experience.
Inconsistency in data management resulted in longer turnaround times for changes. This also led to a greater reliance on IT for data management due to the lack of standardised data.
Ultimately, all of the factors mentioned above led to greater expenses for maintenance, development, and branding. To tackle this we needed to find solutions for all of these challenges.
To ensure consistency in branding and user experience, multiple websites were consolidated onto a single platform using Liferay DXP. The platform’s security was strengthened with the implementation of Liferay DXP Cloud.
Leveraging Liferay DXP's 00TB functionalities, such as Content Management System, Multilingual Support, Integration Capability, Search, and other modules, helped to personalize and create consistent experiences.
Additionally, map integration was utilised to provide comprehensive information about business location and its presence.
Our client, a global energy company, faced the challenge of inconsistent branding and user experience due to multiple websites in different countries. This resulted in higher expenses for maintenance and development, longer turnaround times for changes, and increased dependence on IT for data management. We helped them solve these issues by using Liferay DXP. It enabled consolidation of multiple websites onto a single platform, leading to a decrease in overall cost, three times faster turnaround time for changes, and a 60% reduction in management/maintenance time for microsites.
